Bartender

Role 

The Taproom Bartender is responsible for being a representative of Brooklyn Kura through sake knowledge, alcoholic beverage and food service, guiding tastings, and private event assistance. The taproom team member will be expected to give service that is friendly, attentive, and proactive.

Available on Fridays and Sundays, with flexibility to potentially cover Saturdays and pickup private events booked throughout the week. 

• Approximately 14- 24 hours a week 
• Required to work from our taproom in Industry City (Sunset Park)

Responsibilities

• Greeting all Brooklyn Kura guests and preparing for large party reservations
• Basic knowledge of sake, classic cocktails, wine, and spirits
• Correct use of POS system for order entry, payment processing and receipt distribution (familiarity with Toast is a plus!)
• Ensure food and beverage arrive to guests timely and correctly 
• Communicate effectively with BOH, production team, and managers as needed to maintain a positive and functioning work environment.
• Effectively communicate with management with any guest issue or complaint
• Support inventory management and stocking/preparing taproom service related items
• Follow opening and closing procedures as needed
• Support team in event logistics such as F&B setup and service. 

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of bartending experience 
• Strong beverage and/or fermentation knowledge and passion for the service industry 
• Availability in mid-afternoon through evenings on scheduled days
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills 
• Professional and approachable when dealing with guests, managers and fellow employees
• Able to meet physical demands of the position - standing for 5-8 hours, lifting heavy objects, etc.
• Strong work ethic and proactive in service
• Team-oriented, responsive, and comfortable collaborating
• 21 years old or over
