divh2Education Specialist - Inclusive Education/h2pThe job of Education Specialist - Inclusive Education is done for the purpose of improving special education students success in the basic academics; relieving teachers of clerical tasks; and assisting students with special health care needs./ppstrongResponsibilities:/strong/pulliAdapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the teacher/liliAdministers tests/liliAssists special education students requiring daily care, (e.g. toileting, feeding, etc.)/liliAttends Individual Education Program meetings wtih assigned student(s)/liliConfers with teachers and/or parents as may be required/liliImplements instructional programs and lesson plans, (e.g. reading, math, language, comprehension, writing, computer, etc.)/liliInstructs students (individual or small groups), (e.g. reading, spelling, self esteem, behavioral skills, daily living skills, etc.)/liliMaintains classroom equipment, work areas, student files/records, (e.g. clean up after various class projects, entering grades, adapting instructional materials, audiovisual equipment, etc.)/liliMonitors and assists special education students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments, (e.g. classrooms, rest rooms, hallways, cafeteria, labs, field trips, on/off buses, etc.)/liliParticipates in in-service workshops and training/liliPerforms record keeping and clerical functions, (e.g. scheduling, copying, instructional materials, correcting papers, compiling list, etc.)/liliPicks up and/or delivers homework/assignments to students at home/liliProvides documentation of students work/liliResponds to emergency situations, (e.g. injured students, fights, etc.)/liliAssists other personnel as may be required/li/ulpstrongRequirements:/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/liliPre-employment proficiency test/liliCriminal Justice/fingerprint clearance/liliAbility to read, write and communicate clearly in English/li/ulpThis is a 10 month School Year position only./p/div
