Registered Dietitian PRN

Shift and Status Casual, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Variable weekends. Job Summary A practitioner with the knowledge, skills and experience to be a competent Registered Dietitian. The Registered Dietitian’s primary responsibilities include direct patient care through the Nutrition Care Process (NCP)—conducting nutrition assessments, determining diagnoses, developing evidence‑based interventions, prescribing diets/feeding orders, and coordinating Medical Nutrition Therapy services. The RD also provides nutrition counseling and education for inpatient and outpatient populations, collaborates respectfully with patients and the interdisciplinary team, and maintains effective relationships to support a culture of safe, high‑quality care. Essential Functions Perform the NCP and Nutrition Focused Physical Exam independently as a competent RD, documenting records per SOP, legislation, regulations, and organization policies. Precept and teach dietetic interns, medical students, and other trainees. For Rehabilitation & Nursing Centers (RNCs), collaborate with Manager of Nutrition Services at least 4 hours every 60 days. Maintain clinical productivity standards and accurate record keeping for scheduling and billing. Advocate for patient care by interacting with the interdisciplinary team. Coordinate Medical Nutrition Therapy services for patients. Contribute to and engage in improving departmental and organizational metrics. May communicate with the media on issues related to the focus area or advanced clinical topics. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field. Registered Dietitian (RD) status via the Commission on Dietetic Registration, with at least 180 days of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), valid for 1 year. Preferred Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
