Press Operator Assistant

The Press Operator Assistant supports the safe and efficient operation of production press machines in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on loading parts, monitoring the press process, performing quality checks, and preparing finished products for shipment. The position offers structured training, clear work orders, and the opportunity to build long-term skills in press operation and printing.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on machine operating responsibilities.
• Proven ability to operate production machinery safely and efficiently in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to operate a sit-down forklift or similar powered industrial truck to move materials and finished products.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate quality checks and identify defects.
• Experience completing and maintaining paper-based documentation and work orders in an organized manner.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately to verify measurements and dimensions.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machines and tools in a production environment.
• Capability to perform basic assembly tasks as part of the press operation process.
• Ability to perform visual inspections, including basic color matching, to ensure product quality.
• Reliability in following set schedules, including second shift or weekend shifts, and adhering to scheduled overtime.
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to facility rules, including restrictions on personal devices on the production floor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Direct printing or press operating experience, especially in a manufacturing environment, is highly desired and may support faster advancement.
• Experience with color matching or print-related processes is a plus.
• Prior experience working in a nonfully temperature-controlled facility is beneficial.
• Comfort working with paper-based tracking systems and manual documentation.
• Willingness to learn multiple press machines and expand skills over time.
• Ability to work both second shift and weekend shift schedules as needed based on business requirements.
• Comfort working in a team environment and taking direction from experienced press operators and trainers.

Job Type & Location

This is a permanent position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
