Wellness Manager (Senior Care)

We are currently seeking a full-time Wellness Manager for our Senior Services department. Compensation We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The salary range for this position is $53,705.60 to $56,796.48 and may be commensurate with experience. Position Description The Wellness Manager oversees the development, planning, and coordination of evidence-based health and wellness activities and programming for all clients of SOME Senior Services. This role manages volunteer needs related to wellness programming and oversees volunteer engagement and coordination. The Wellness Manager delegates tasks to support staff to ensure effective implementation of coordinated health and wellness activities for Senior Center participants and residential clients. When appropriate, the Wellness Manager directly facilitates health and wellness activities. This position oversees the timely submission of weekly, monthly, and annual reports required for program funding and evaluation. The Wellness Manager also contributes to the ongoing improvement of policies and procedures related to the delivery of wellness programming within SOME Senior Services. Additionally, the Wellness Manager monitors annual program expenditures to ensure alignment with the approved budget and performs other duties as assigned. Expected Contributions Oversee all Senior Center operations, including development, planning, and coordination of evidence-based health and wellness activities for all clients of SOME Senior Services. Promote programs and independently establish formal partnerships with community organizations. Develop evaluation tools and collect data to evaluate program content and impact on participants. Track attendance and program statistics for grant reporting, and contribute to grant application submissions. Monitor and report on all activities to ensure internal and external compliance. Manage and delegate appropriate tasks to the program support specialist. Independently monitor budget spending for the Senior Center. Activity Management Maintain daily oversight and functionality of SOME's Senior Center and Senior Services' wellness activities. Coordinate and organize the ongoing volunteer program and new volunteer initiatives. Develop a system to recruit, screen, train, and coordinate volunteers to support programs. Engage clients and community partners to participate in volunteer activities. Oversee the coordination of the monthly collection and distribution of groceries to client homes. Oversee the efficient use of the Senior Services emergency food pantry. Publish and distribute outreach materials to current and prospective participants. Organize and collaborate with community partners to ensure group transportation and daily program activities are facilitated. Oversee the solicitation, collection, and distribution of Holiday Gift Baskets throughout the year. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Extensive knowledge of developing health and wellness activities. Project Management. Problem‑solving skills. Organized with an attention to detail. Ability to multitask despite competing priorities. Ability to communicate with diverse audiences and develop formal community partnerships. Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and has the ability to learn database systems. Ability to provide minimal case management and referral to community and/or SOME resources. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Action-oriented. Flexibility. Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (40 hours per week) Required License / Certification CPR/First Aid; ServSafe Food Handler’s certification. Qualifications – Required High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree; 5–6 years of social services or wellness programming experience; experience developing and implementing evidence‑based services to senior populations; previous experience implementing health, wellness, and recreational activities to seniors and/or specialized populations; experience promoting health literacy and establishing partnerships with community organizations; familiar with client intake, assessment, and referral processes; applicable certifications issued by the District of Columbia Department of Health. Qualifications – Preferred Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree; 2–4 years of social service or wellness programming experience; demonstrated experience developing and implementing evidence‑based health, wellness, and recreational activities to seniors and/or specialized populations; 2+ years of previous project management experience; experience promoting health literacy, establishing and sustaining community partnerships, and coordinating monthly events; skilled at client intake, assessment, and referral; applicable certifications issued by the District of Columbia Department of Health; driver’s license.
