Specialist, Proactive Network Maintenance

Proactive Network Maintenance Specialist Breezeline, a subsidiary of Cogeco Communications Inc., is a leading cable operator serving over 1.7 million homes and businesses across 13 states. Responsibilities Design and oversee preventative maintenance programs to address potential vulnerabilities in the network infrastructure. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and HFC standards/design teams to identify recurring issues and develop long‑term solutions. Create processes and procedures for identification and prioritization of key network upgrade locations in partnership with the Network Engineering & Operations (NEO) teams. Recommend improvements to network architecture and design based on preventative maintenance findings. Analyze network performance data to identify patterns of degradation or failure. Utilize predictive analytics to forecast potential network failures and intervene before they impact service. Monitor KPIs related to network uptime, performance, and maintenance efficiency. Coordinate with third‑party vendors and service providers to ensure timely and cost‑effective maintenance activities. Ensure seamless communication and coordination of maintenance activities with internal stakeholders such as engineering, IT, and customer service teams. Establish and enforce network maintenance protocols and procedures that comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Identify risks associated with network components and develop mitigation plans. Maintain accurate documentation of all preventative maintenance activities and network asset records. Conduct regular assessments of the network to improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and increase uptime. Stay updated on the latest trends in network maintenance and technologies, and implement best practices. Desired Skills & Experience Minimum of 5 years technical operations experience (HFC) within CATV, focused on progressive leadership and technical skills development. Minimum of 5 years HFC Network technician or HFC design (or other related experience). Minimum of 2 years project management experience for large‑scale technology deployments (or other related experience). Advanced knowledge of HFC topology, troubleshooting and metrics including MER, BER, and other customer‑impacting parameters. Passive Optical Network experience (RFOG, GPON, XGS, etc.) with OSP topology and ability to identify metrics of success. Strong written and oral communication skills. Extensive knowledge of MS Office and Google platforms; working knowledge of BigQuery and data analytics preferred. Experience with AI platforms for application creation and coding preferred. Ability to work remotely via video‑conference platforms such as Google Meets. 50% travel between Breezeline and Cogeco systems. Experience in CSG Workforce Express deployment and usage. Salary For candidates whose primary place of work will be in Virginia or Maryland, the expected salary range for this position is $77,800–$97,300.
