In this key role, you will drive the system requirements, functional architecture, integration, and verification activities for the Body domain to achieve end-to-end system capability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, as you'll work with vehicle integration, feature integration, firmware, and vehicle component development teams to deliver the overall reliability and performance of our cutting-edge vehicles.We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about developing a ground-breaking Robotaxi, has a strong system engineering background, has extensive system experience with Body Electronics systems, has system problem-solving skills, and has a commitment to delivering on time.In this role, you will:Lead Body Systems and controls for an autonomous robotaxiDesign system technical specifications and ArchitectureDevelop system design and integration test plans to ensure optimal performance, safety, and efficiency for different systems including Interior and exterior Lighting, Closures, Sensor Cleaning, considering cost, mass, and latencyCollaborate with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams for system requirements and integrationEnsure subsystems fulfill requirements and interfacesParticipate in tech reviews for supplier evaluation and guarantee V&V tests are capturedCreate System FMEAs, diagnostics, and fault reactions for safe operation. Lead issue triage (log/code reviews, HW investigation)Requires domestic/international travel (2 weeks/year)QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldAt least 10 years of experience in System engineering, preferably in EVs or automotive systemsStrong system-level understanding of diverse vehicle Systems architectures for Closures, lighting, and related body control functionsFamiliarity with power management requirements specific to autonomous vehicles, network architecture, and power electronics in EV platforms.Strong foundation in sensor and actuator technologies for different body control systems.Deep knowledge of developing automotive systems using model-based processes.Deep knowledge of developing electrical systems and subsystems requirements, with proficiency in tools like IBM DOORS, Siemens Polarion, or similar.Knowledge of automotive electrical architectures, including communication protocols (CAN/LIN/Ethernet) application and defining Physical & Functional interfaces.Knowledge of Automotive Diagnostics (UDS) routines and the Functional Safety Standard (ISO 26262). A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
