Internal Auditor

The Department of Revenue is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Internal Auditor to join our executive staff. This executive role entails performing several core functions, including assessing controls to prevent fraud, errors, and inefficiencies; ensuring compliance and reporting; generating audit reports to communicate findings to the executive staff; and managing risk. Also, this position is a high-level position that will also involve collaborating with external stakeholders, such as federal government agencies, local governments, other state agencies, and business partners.

What you'll need to be successful:

An effective internal auditor has a solid understanding of financial principles, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, along with the analytical ability to identify risks and inefficiencies. They communicate their findings clearly and maintain professionalism, integrity, and objectivity in every review.

• Proven leadership and supervisory skills

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree, 5+ years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in audit management

Hiring agency preferred qualifications:

• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
