This position provides support to our patients as they are experiencing a life changing event. The support is accomplished by working with the caregiver to schedule appointments, perform pre-registration and registration of new and existing patients, scheduling of outside tests, answering phones, and providing patients with information regarding access to additional external financial resources. In this position, you will have the opportunity to support our patients with issues dealing with scheduling and questions for the provider(s). In addition, you will maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory agencies by obtaining various consents.Key Responsibilities:Processes appointment requests for all types of outpatient appointments for new and established patientsObtains patient consentsPerforms registration of patientsScheduling of outside testsCompletes verification of insurance prior to patient arrival for servicesIdentifies uninsured patients to perform financial counselingAssists with completing applications for external sourcesRequired Qualifications:High School diploma/GED3+ years’ experience in patient access, scheduling, registration or customer service in a healthcare environmentPreferred Qualifications:1 year healthcare experienceCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity. #J-18808-Ljbffr Shriners Children's
