Role and Responsibilities

Electrical maintenance technicians are responsible for  preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Key duties include:

• Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment, motors, generators, lighting systems, and control systems in compliance with safety codes such as NFPA 70 and CAS-Z462 regulations worksourcewa.com.
• Performing  preventive maintenance on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), instrumentation, and low/high voltage systems  worksourcewa.com+1.
• Reading and interpreting  blueprints, schematics, PFDs, and P&IDs to diagnose and repair electrical faults Zippia.
• Assisting with plant shutdowns, new installations, and modifications to existing equipment worksourcewa.com.
• Maintaining accurate  maintenance logs, work orders, and preventive maintenance records Indeed.

Qualifications and Skills

Typical requirements for an electrical maintenance technician include:

• Education : High school diploma or GED; an associate degree in electrical or industrial maintenance is an asset worksourcewa.com.
• Experience : 1–5 years of maintenance experience in industrial or processing environments; experience with 480V systems up to 350HP, and higher voltage systems is advantageous worksourcewa.com.
