At the present time, a vacancy exists for a Behavior Supports Coordinator - IU Programs position within the Student Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). The Behavior Supports Coordinator - IU Programs position provides strategic leadership and oversight of behavioral support systems, clinical service delivery, and program development across IU-operated programs within Advanced Clinical Services (ACS). The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously refining comprehensive behavior support frameworks that ensure consistent, high-quality, and evidence-based practices across classrooms and programs serving students with complex needs. This position reports to the Supervisor - ACS CCIU Services and provides direct supervision to Behavior Analyst Consultants, Behavior Consultants, Behaviorists, Behavior Mentors; and indirect supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians and Personal Care Assistants. This position is split between the Child and Career Development Center in Malvern, PA and Child and Career Development Center in West Grove, PA. (DUE TO THE GREAT VALLEY CAMPUS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION, THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL START AT THE CHILD AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER IN COATESVILLE, PA UNTIL IT OPENS) The Coordinator leads the alignment of behavioral programming with instructional priorities, student needs, and organizational goals, providing direct supervision of behavior analysts and related staff while establishing systems that promote accountability, fidelity, and consistency in service delivery. Serving as a key liaison with program leadership, school teams, and Local Education Agencies (LEAs), this position builds and sustains strong partnerships to support proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and responsive behavioral services across settings. Through data-driven decision-making, performance monitoring, and strategic planning, the Coordinator drives continuous improvement in behavioral outcomes, staff performance, and program effectiveness. This role plays a critical leadership function in overseeing functional behavior assessment processes, behavior intervention planning, and multi-tiered systems of support, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in applied behavior analysis. In addition, the Coordinator advances professional development, strengthens internal capacity, and champions innovative practices that enhance program quality, scalability, and sustainability. With responsibility for program performance, clinical integrity, and stakeholder collaboration, this position contributes to the ongoing growth, alignment, and impact of behavioral support services across IU programs. The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. Working between the Pennsylvania State Department of Education and the local school districts, the Intermediate Unit's mission is to provide services that can be offered most economically at the regional level. Qualifications Master's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, or related field-required Currently certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst - required Minimum 8 years experience working in a behavioral health setting or related field Minimum 5 years experience providing supervision to staff Current police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances required Duties & Responsibilities Strategic and Systems Leadership Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a campuswide behavior support framework aligned with the mission of IU programs and multi-tiered PBIS systems Serve as a member of the building leadership team, contributing behavioral expertise to instructional planning, problem solving, and continuous improvement efforts Facilitate interdisciplinary meetings with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to ensure consistent and high-fidelity implementation of behavioral supports across programs and learning environments Clinical Oversight and Staff Supervision Provide clinical supervision for all ABA-based practices to ensure alignment with ethical, supervisory, and professional standards Supervise RBTs, Behavior Mentors, BCBA trainees, and other assigned staff in accordance with BACB supervision requirements, including direct observation, feedback, competency evaluation, and documentation Assign and adjust staffing across programs, classrooms, and individual student needs at the direction of the building principal using student data, behavioral trends, and staff skill sets to inform decisions Support the building principal by monitoring staff performance related to behavior support implementation and providing input as appropriate Provide ongoing, in-the-moment leadership and coordination of behavior support staff throughout the school day, maintaining an active presence to respond to behavioral situations, support staff in real time, and model crisis intervention strategies across settings and routines Assessment, Intervention, and High-Need Case Leadership Provide leadership for functional behavior assessments and the development, implementation, and monitoring of function-based behavior intervention plans using evidence-based practices Lead and coordinate high-risk behavioral cases to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with positive behavioral interventions Ensure behavioral supports are integrated into IEP development and instructional decision making to support student access to instruction and improved outcomes Design data collection systems and measurable behavioral goals to support effective intervention planning Collaborate with teams to implement and adjust behavior intervention plans based on student progress Data Systems, Discipline, and Progress Monitoring Oversee campus behavior data systems, including PowerSchool, SWIS or equivalent platforms, to ensure accurate documentation, timely referrals, and effective use of data Lead regular reviews of campuswide behavior trends, PBIS implementation, and intervention fidelity to inform instructional adjustments, staffing decisions, and leadership action steps Serve as the primary lead for building-wide restraint monitoring, including data analysis, follow-up, and prevention planning Oversee behavior tracking and communication platforms, including behavior point databases and staff notification systems, to support data-driven decision making, consistent discipline, restorative practices, and daily staff coordination Manage office behavioral referrals, including review, entry as needed, and use of referral data to guide discipline decisions; communicate directly with families regarding behavior-related concerns Compliance, Safety, and Restraint Reduction Ensure all behavioral practices comply with Pennsylvania Chapter 14.133 Positive Behavior Support regulations and CCIU procedures Oversee implementation of restraint reporting requirements, including parent notification, IEP team review, and required documentation Lead staff training and coaching focused on crisis prevention, de-escalation, and reduction of restrictive practices, reinforcing a proactive and instructionally focused school culture Ensure staff meet and maintain certification requirements in approved crisis intervention systems (e.g., Safety-Care), including oversight of training status, renewals, and compliance Professional Development and Capacity Building Design and deliver ongoing professional development related to PBIS implementation, functional behavior assessment, behavior intervention planning, ethical practice, and data-based decision making Provide coaching and technical assistance to staff and program leaders to strengthen implementation fidelity and problem-solving capacity Collaborate with external partners and consultants to support complex cases and enhance staff expertise when needed Student Support, School Climate, and Transitions Support campuswide discipline systems grounded in PBIS that prioritize skill development, consistency, and reduction of exclusionary practices Serve as a consultative leader during significant behavioral incidents, supporting administrative decision-making through data analysis and functional understanding of behavior Salary Range (2026-2027 Rates) $90,083 to $112,604 (placement on scale is based on years of experience) Schedule Monday - Friday;
