This travel assignment supports adult medical/surgical and oncology patients in a high-acuity inpatient unit. The role emphasizes chemotherapy administration and complex patient monitoring within a CHNE 4 Medical Oncology unit featuring 28 beds and two Comfort Care Suites. Orientation is provided to prepare for patient care and safety on nights.

- Orientation: 38 hours
- Compliance note: On a night rotation with weekend requirements and floating within the service line as needed

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult medical/surgical and oncology patients during night shifts, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of care
- Administer medications, chemotherapy per protocol, monitor for adverse effects, and manage ports/port access as indicated
- Perform telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV starts/maintenance, and PCA management; respond to rapid responses and codes as needed
- Maintain accurate EPIC documentation; collaborate with the unit secretary and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Float within the service line as needed; participate in on-unit safety initiatives and escalation procedures
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure patient comfort, safety, and adherence to infection control and clinical protocols
- Adhere to unit-specific policies, including patient age-appropriate care and protocol-driven chemotherapy administration
- ACLS requirements apply to Barnes-Jewish Hospital locations (where applicable)

Requirements
- Active RN license (or eligibility) with pending license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Certifications: BCLS, NIHSS, Fire safety; EPIC experience required; ACLS: Required only for Barnes-Jewish Hospital locations (if applicable)
- Education: Nursing degree from an accredited program (RN)
- Compliance: Documentation/compliance deadline at 3:00 pm CST on the Monday before start date
- Local candidates: Not accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Floating: Will float within the service line as needed; On-call: Not required
- Immunizations: Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required (as per program policy)
