Cost Estimator

Urban Engineers is seeking a Cost Estimator to join the Estimating Department. This position will support cost estimating activities for a wide variety of projects including highway, bridge, marine, transit, aviation, and rail designs.ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed cost estimates during various stages of design development under the direction and review of senior estimating staff.Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other direct cost pricing in support of detailed estimates.Prepare detailed cost estimates for a wide variety of projects including highway, bridge, marine, transit, aviation, and rail designs for internal and external clients.Maintain clear and complete supporting documentation for estimates, quantity takeoffs, pricing, and estimate assumptions.Provide estimating, change order review, and project controls support as assigned.Assist with the preparation and presentation of estimating deliverables to internal and external clients.Support the maintenance of estimating databases, historical cost information, and computer-based office libraries.Support project budget and estimate updates, including reconciliation of changes as designs progress.Requirements:Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction cost estimating with a focus in heavy civil or facilities and 2 years' experience in passenger rail or related transportation modes.Contractor, construction management, design consultant, or owner-side estimating experience is preferred.Experience interpreting design documents, developing quantity takeoffs, pricing labor, materials, and equipment, and preparing estimate documentation.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.Professional certification in cost estimating or cost management, such as AACE CCP/CEP or ASPE AEP/CPE, or demonstrated progress toward an applicable professional certification, is desirable but not required.Working knowledge of cost estimating and cost management practices, including estimate development, cost forecasting, and change management.Experience with estimating software such as InEight, HeavyBid, or B2W is preferred, or demonstrated ability to learn new estimating software.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with Bluebeam software or similar.Familiarity with scheduling software such as ASTA or Primavera P6 is a plus.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.Benefits of working at Urban:Medical/PrescriptionDentalVisionLife InsuranceShort/Long Term DisabilityFlexible Spending Accounts401K and company matchEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Vacation, Holiday, and Personal DaysTuition ReimbursementProfessional DevelopmentCertification BonusApply today!Pay Rate: $100,000 - $125,000 / yearLocation(s): {Philadelphia, PA | Cherry Hill, NJ | King of Prussia, PA | HybridAbout Urban: -LHOur culture is built around our people.
