Under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officer, the Congregational Operations Project Manager, works with Center Administrators, Leadership Partners, Facilities Staff, and Sisters to move forward the mission of the Congregation as it relates to facilities, operations, environmental and sustainability issues and other tasks. Essential Functions:

• The Project Manager supports the Congregation of St. Joseph by coordinating projects that advance responsible stewardship of the Congregation's people, properties, financial resources, and care for creation.
• This role will assist and support the operations of the Congregation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborating with all constituents of the Congregation over six different locations.
• The role will collaborate closely with Congregational ministry staff including CSJI, CSJM, Center Administrators, Sisters, Leadership Partners, staff, consultants, and vendors.
• This position manages capital improvements for several buildings, solar and energy initiatives, Sister moves, and other assigned operational projects across Congregation locations.
• The role establishes clear scopes, schedules, budgets, responsibilities, risks, and measurable outcomes; provides timely progress reports and recommendations; and promotes safe, cost-effective, sustainable, and mission-aligned results.
• In every assignment, the Project Manager is expected to foster respectful relationships, inclusive collaboration, discernment, accountability, and compassionate attention to the needs and dignity of the Sisters and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer, CSJI representatives, Center Administrators, facilities staff, and other stakeholders to define project scopes, budgets, schedules, responsibilities, risks, and deliverables for approved projects.
• Plan and coordinate Sisters' residential transitions, including moves from homes or apartments to Congregation-sponsored Centers; work sensitively with Sisters, families, landlords, movers, Center staff, and other service providers.
• Manage a portfolio of assigned capital, facility, energy, environmental, real estate, and operational projects from planning through completion, maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets, decision logs, status reports, and closeout documentation.
• Coordinate maintenance and capital-improvement projects for Congregation-owned retreat house, and several buildings and residences, while relying on qualified staff, consultants, and contractors for technical execution.
• Coordinate requests for proposals, vendor evaluation, contracting, purchase approvals, and vendor performance in collaboration with the COO, CSJI, facilities personnel, finance, legal counsel, and other designated stakeholders.
• Coordinate the Congregation's solar initiative and related sustainability projects, including feasibility work, site coordination, utility and incentive processes, contracts, implementation schedules, vendors, and progress reporting.
• Lead the support existing energy procurement and energy efficiency projects; including utility and energy contracts, building system improvements, conservation initiatives and coordination with technical advisors and vendors.
• Working closely with the COO to support the sale or other disposition of Congregation-owned properties by coordinating inspections, repairs, cleanouts, appraisals, brokers, legal and financial documentation, and closing-related activities.
• Prepare concise project updates and recommendations for the COO and other decision-makers, promptly escalating risks, decisions, budget variances, and schedule concerns; perform other projects and operational assignments as directed.
• The role may evolve over time to include coordinating building deconstruction or site restoration projects, including due diligence, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder communication while relying on professionals in the industry.
• This role will be a member of multiple committees as assigned, including Leadership Partners, Forced Pooling and COSJ Capital Budgets.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, construction management, engineering, real estate, environmental studies, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• Five to seven years of progressively responsible project-management or project-coordination experience, preferably involving multiple locations, capital projects, real estate, energy, construction, or organizational transitions.
• Demonstrated success coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and vendors; strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, documentation, problem-solving, and written reporting
• Ability to understand and coordinate technical, contractual, regulatory, and property-related information; working knowledge of building systems, permits, codes, construction, utilities, or real-estate transactions is helpful but direct maintenance expertise is not required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to Congregation-sponsored Centers, residences, and project sites.
• Documented experience managing at least three concurrent projects with defined scopes, budgets, schedules, milestones, and stakeholder reporting.
• Demonstrated experience managing individual project budgets of at least $250,000 or a comparable portfolio of capital and operational projects; experience with larger, multi-site initiatives is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint, and with a project-management or work-tracking platform used to maintain schedules, task ownership, risks, and status reports.
• Ability to analyze bids, contracts, invoices, budgets, schedules, and change requests; identify material differences and risks; and present a clear written recommendation to the COO and other decision-makers.
• Demonstrated ability to produce accurate project documentation and executive-level written reports, facilitate meetings, track decisions and action items, and communicate effectively with varied stakeholders.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and to coordinate projects affecting Sisters, their homes, and their belongings with sensitivity, respect, and alignment with the Congregation's Mission, Charism, Generous Promises, and Sacred Work.

Working Conditions:

• Standard office setting; hybrid, remote.
• Engage in normal office activity, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Preferred location near our Cleveland, OH; Wichita, KS; Wheeling, WV; Kalamazoo, MI; La Grange Park, IL locations.
• Travel: travel to centers, Sister residences and other project sites as needed.

Physical Activity Requirements:

• Ability to conduct site walks, attend inspections, and support move days that may involve lifting light items and extended standing.
• Able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 25 lbs., and ability to travel.
• Periodic evening or weekend work.
