OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician

Jackson and Coker is seeking an OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician for a locums opportunity in Ohio, starting June 26 and continuing ongoing. This role involves weekend in-house call, focusing primarily on labor and delivery within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will manage both low- and high-risk pregnancies, perform various deliveries, and handle surgical gynecology cases. Practice Info Practice setting: hospital-based call; ~90% labor & delivery Coverage model: 2 providers, at least once per month Call ratio: 1:4 Facility: 34 L&D/postpartum/triage beds; 205 total hospital beds APP support: 1 per 12-hour shift Onsite lab and ultrasound services Support staff includes L&D nurses and midwives Patient mix: 60% low-risk OB, 40% high-risk OB 60% gynecology cases Average 5 GYN surgeries per day Average 4 nursery admissions per day Nursery level II EMR: Epic Responsibilities Manage low- and high-risk pregnancies Interpret FHR (NST, CST, FSE) Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds Make decisions and manage C-sections Perform routine vaginal delivery and complicated deliveries (C-section, breech, multiples, abruptions) Perform circumcisions Perform VBACs Repair 3rd and 4th degree lacerations Perform surgical gynecology (open and laparoscopic, minor and major procedures) Perform operative gynecology including ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy Benefits Top-rated malpractice insurance Full-service in-house travel agency and credentialing coordinators 24/7 recruiter availability Shift & Schedule Possibility of June coverage, 2 weeks prior to stat One weekend per month August-December 2026 2-3 weekends per month ongoing Friday 7 AM – Monday 7 AM 24-hour in-house call Every other weekend schedule Requirements Board Certified Ohio license - highly preferred BLS ACLS Active DEA Clean malpractice history
