SAP Functional Consultant - Project Systems

We are seeking a SAP Functional Consultant – Project Systems to join our Consulting team. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing complex SAP PS applications, providing technical expertise and system design for initiatives, and collaborating with SMEs across the organization. Roles & Responsibilities Configure and support SAP Project Systems (PS) functionality and business processes. Design and maintain solutions for project structures, WBS, planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, cost planning, tracking, capital investment management, revenue and settlement processes, resource planning, and project reporting, ensuring alignment with business requirements. Business Process Analysis & Requirements Gathering: collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, analyze current processes, recommend SAP best practices, facilitate workshops, translate requirements into functional specifications and configurations. Integration & Cross‑Functional Collaboration: support integration between SAP PS and related SAP modules (FI/CO, FM, MM, PM, AA, procurement, supply chain), collaborate with technical teams, ensure accurate cost tracking, settlements, and financial reporting. Project Planning & Financial Management: configure project profiles, network activities, cost planning structures, settlement rules, investment profiles, budget controls, support capital project accounting, lifecycle management, forecasting, earned value tracking, and financial reconciliation. Testing & Quality Assurance: develop and execute functional, integration, UAT, and regression tests; validate accounting, budgeting, reporting, integration; support issue resolution and production support. Reporting & Analytics Support: develop and validate project cost reports, capital dashboards, budget and forecast reporting, resource utilization, financial reconciliation reports; collaborate with analytics teams. Documentation & Governance: create and maintain functional specs, configuration documents, process flows, user guides, training materials, operational procedures; ensure compliance with governance, controls, audit, and support change and release management. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of SAP functional consulting experience. 5+ years of direct SAP Project Systems (PS) experience. Proven experience supporting enterprise project management and capital project implementations. Strong understanding of project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Hands‑on experience configuring WBS, network activities, budget planning, cost allocation, settlements, and project lifecycle management. Understanding of capital project accounting, financial controls, SAP integration, project reporting, and analytics. Experience with SAP FI/CO, Asset Accounting, procurement integration, functional specs, testing documentation. Industry experience in transportation, utilities, infrastructure, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or public sector. Experience supporting large‑scale capital programs and enterprise portfolios. Experience with SAP Funds Management, Plant Maintenance, Fiori, Analytics Cloud or reporting tools. Experience supporting Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies. Certifications & Education Qualifications Preferred: SAP Certified Application Associate – S/4HANA Project Systems, SAP FI, SAP CO, PMP, S/4HANA certifications. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, or related discipline; or equivalent education and experience.
