Our philosophy:

Our company wishes to employ someone who is friendly, professional, energetic, takes direction, desires to work with the public, and believes in customer service. The position requires wine and/or craft beer knowledge and/or a willingness to learn. The role is more specialized (in the area of wine and craft beer) than that of a bartender/ mixologist; additionally, no liquor is served at HWS. We hope to provide an atmosphere where customers can come and wind down, relax and have a glass or purchase bottles to drink on-site or take home. We aim to please the customer who has little to no knowledge and those who have more than we do. We employee friendly and caring staff who are willing to learn it all.

Job duties listed below (but not limited to):

Serve wine and craft beer by bottle or glass.

Take beverage and food orders directly from patrons.

Build and maintain relationships with clients, corporate clients, private event clientele, and distributors.

Serve customers at counter/bar, inside/outside tables, and downstairs for events.

Practice and maintain high sanitation standards (cleanliness is extremely important to us).

Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Dress according to “dress code.”

Share information on new wines and/or help customers with wine choices.

Maintain retail area and other storage areas by arranging bottles

and glasses to make attractive displays.

Re-stock items as needed and label items.

Make sure opening and closing duties are complete before clocking out.

********Must be 18 or older*********(We prefer someone close to this age in order to pour wine and beer)

Additional Requirements:

MUST BE WILLING TO WORK WEEKENDS (Friday and Saturday evenings, in particular)

● Strong server experience working in fast-paced environments.

● Passion and a strong interest in all wine styles and varietals, and craft beer.

● Excellent Verbal and Communication Skills

● High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

● Team Player

● Communicate and teach product knowledge to clientele

Experience:

● bartending: (Preferred)

● serving: (Preferred)

Education:

● High school or equivalent (Required)

License:

● TABC (Preferred or willingness to take the online short course)

● food handler certificate (Preferred or willing to take the course)

Duties:

• Greeting and seating customers
• Taking orders
• Delivering food
• Serving alcohol
• Busing, cleaning, and resetting tables
• Answering phone calls
• Preparing bill and processing payment
• Cleaning duties such as stocking, sanitizing, sweeping floors, washing dishes

Desired Skill(s):

• Handling cash accurately
• Processing credit cards
• Basic math calculations without a calculator
• Using Point of Sale software
• Making change accurately
