Workflow Automation Specialist

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Workflow Automation Specialist opportunity to support an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project. Locations: Greenville, SC and Houston, SC Job Description This position is primarily involved in computer field work performing systems analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, or modification of workflow systems or programs. The Specialist exercises discretion and judgment to support workflow-related IT projects, collaborate with customers, vendors, industry consultants, and company management, and guide and share knowledge with other IT staff. Basic Job Responsibilities Assess requests related to workflows. Produce and ingest accurate diagrams and requirement documentation related to workflow requests and communicate needs back to the customer or requestor. Develop, configure, enhance, and support business workflows within change management processes. Work closely with team members and stakeholders to understand project requirements and align software solutions with organizational goals. Assist in design, testing, and deployment of workflow development software projects under senior guidance. Maintain a customer-focused approach, addressing user needs and ensuring solutions meet end‑user requirements. Contribute to development and coding of enterprise-level software applications; participate in issue identification and solution discussions. Demonstrate proficiency in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Communicate effectively with team members, providing project updates and escalating complex problems to higher-level specialists when needed. Maintain documentation related to software development, coding standards, procedures, and user manuals. Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in software development. Contribute ideas for process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance software applications. Participate in training programs and collaborative knowledge-sharing activities within the team. Promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles across employees and contractors. Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality. Engineering, Procurement, Construction experience preferred. Other duties as assigned. Understand IT practices, guide strategy, and align with core strategies. Assist in guiding customer requests for new solutions or changes. Document requirements and obtain customer approval for development. Collaborate with application owners for IT-driven changes. Support adherence to IT strategy and methodologies. Oversee scope, schedule, and interfaces with IT teams. Review project objectives and propose cost‑effective alternatives. Analyze complex processes to identify improvement areas and recommend solutions. Define, analyze, develop, and document new systems and programs to meet business needs. Responsible for multiple applications in a single functional area. Execute project tasks with high quality standards. Coordinate software and hardware installation, deployment, and upgrades. Apply growing knowledge of IT best practices. Assist in special project-related issues as needed. Preferred Qualifications Accredited four‑year degree or equivalent plus 5 years of work‑related experience (or 9 years combined with non‑degree education). Experience developing and deploying complex workflows for large projects. Strong communication skills with management, colleagues, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Technical knowledge relevant to the role. Ability to learn and apply local, state, province, national statutes and guidelines. Detail‑oriented, time‑conscious, and efficient work habits. Experience building complex workflow automation solutions with Microsoft Power Apps (Power Apps & Automate), Aconex, Kahua, or similar platforms (REQUIRED) . Experience building both Model‑driven and Canvas apps in Power Apps (REQUIRED) . Experience building workflow and automation solutions in Power Automate (REQUIRED) . Working knowledge of data modeling and architecture with Microsoft SQL or Dataverse (PREFERRED) . Working knowledge of data pipeline tools (e.g., Microsoft SSIS) (PREFERRED) . Working knowledge of program management and issue tracking platforms (Azure DevOps or Jira) in support of Agile methodologies (PREFERRED) . Full lifecycle software development experience with OOP languages, preferably C# and JavaScript (PREFERRED) .
