Material Handler / Inventory Control Specialist

Location: Richmond/Katy, TX Area
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site

Pay: 23.00-25.00 Hourly
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Material Handler / Inventory Control Specialist to join a growing medical manufacturing operation in the Richmond/Katy area.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining the uninterrupted flow of materials throughout the manufacturing, engineering, warehouse, and production areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, material handling, inventory control, receiving, shipping, cycle counting, and ERP systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Material Handling

• Receive, inspect, identify, and process incoming materials, components, supplies, and equipment.
• Verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
• Safely transport materials between the warehouse, stockroom, manufacturing, engineering, inspection, and shipping areas.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including packaging, staging, and preparation of materials for shipment.
• Operate carts, pallet jacks, and other approved material-handling equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with material kitting for manufacturing and project requirements.

Inventory Control

• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete inventory transactions in the company's ERP system.
• Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Investigate and communicate inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, shortages, and other inventory concerns.
• Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, segregated, and protected according to company quality requirements.
• Maintain organized stockroom and warehouse areas.
• Support inventory optimization and warehouse organization initiatives.

Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement

• Follow company safety procedures, quality requirements, work instructions, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and inventory transactions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow, inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce material shortages, discrepancies, and delays.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

QualificationsRequired

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, material handling, manufacturing support, or a related environment.
• Experience with inventory management, ERP, or warehouse management systems.
• Experience with receiving, material movement, inventory transactions, and cycle counting.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, packing slips, inventory reports, and related documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site manufacturing and warehouse environment.
• Ability to safely handle and move materials as required by the position.

Preferred

• Experience working in a medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, electronics, or other regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Kanban or lean manufacturing systems.
• Experience with material kitting and production replenishment.
• Experience working with ERP inventory modules.
• Familiarity with quality-controlled inventory processes.
