TH Employment Specialist

$25.62 per hour Employment Specialist A nationally recognized comprehensive Health and Human Services Agency with over 60 programs across New York City and the greater New York Area. The Role Under the general direction of the Program Director, the Employment Specialist guides families in transitional housing through NYC Human Resources Administration systems and assists with enrollment in NYC ACCESS. The specialist partners and networks with Workforce One Job Centers and other employment centers to help clients obtain employment. Additional duties include completing vocational assessments, monitoring client progress toward employment/vocational goals, providing job referrals, and collaborating as a member of a multi‑disciplinary intensive case management team. Responsibilities Perform initial vocational assessments for new clients and develop services recommendations for the Independent Living Plan. Conduct ongoing comprehensive vocational assessments and recommend training/employment goals for clients. Provide individual and group counseling to support clients in achieving employment as part of their permanency plan. Record client progress toward vocational goals in charts. Collaborate as an integral member of the intensive case management team and communicate information in case conferences and reviews. Deliver informational vocational seminars to clients on a weekly basis. Refer clients to potential employment options and companies. Perform additional tasks as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalency and at least 2 years of relevant work experience with the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) or another similar city‑operated organization. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
