School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Acworth, Georgia

Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting the unique medical needs of a young student for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time position is dedicated to providing one-on-one care to a child with complex respiratory issues at an elementary school setting near Acworth, GA.

You’ll have the chance to make a profound difference by utilizing your nursing expertise in a school environment, working closely with educational teams and families to foster a safe and healthy learning space for your assigned student.

Key Qualifications:

Current, active LPN or LVN license in Georgia required
Previous pediatric, school nursing, or relevant clinical experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed respiratory assessments and interventions
Proficiency in chest physiotherapy, oxygen monitoring (maintaining O2 saturation above 92%), and advanced suctioning techniques
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers
Adaptability, patience, and a compassionate approach to pediatric care

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide consistent, vigilant 1:1 nursing care during school hours
Implement and oversee all aspects of the student’s respiratory treatment plan
Perform real-time health assessments, secretion management, and emergency interventions as needed
Document all nursing interventions and clinical observations accurately
Consult with healthcare professionals and educators regarding student safety and care plans
Support the student in engaging safely in daily school activities
