Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 36 - 48 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience preferred License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required Basic Life Support (BLS) required Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and independent judgment. Collects relevant data pertinent to patient health or situations. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan and coordinates care delivery. Employs strategies to promote health and maintain a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining patient outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or patient situation. Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing care. Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members. Directly provides health information to patients and families. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
