Position Summary Assistant Store Managers are the heart and soul of the Lids brand. They foster passion for sporting and fashion goods, meet customer needs, and ensure every area of the store is engaged. They are accountable for all aspects of retail store performance, including achieving key results, creating an inclusive environment for team members, and delivering exceptional customer service while offering expertise on Lids’ products and services. People & Training Act as Manager on duty for scheduling, customer complaints, and other operational matters when the Store Manager is absent. Manage store associates using Lids Training Programs, set sales and task goals, and provide regular follow‑up. Administer progressive discipline, including verbal and written warnings, in the absence of the Store Manager. Engage team members by creating a fun and productive environment that links their work to company objectives. Promote a respectful and inclusive team culture, supporting relationships and adhering to Lids Brand Standards (e.g., dress code). Responsibly schedule and staff the store, calling in associates to cover unexpected peaks. Assist in recruiting and training store personnel on proper store operations and procedures. Enforce compliance with company policies, including inventory, funds, and property safeguards. Other duties as assigned. Customer Experience Lead, execute, and support Lids selling strategy to meet KPIs and sales targets while delivering excellent customer service. Resolve customer feedback and escalations, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and customers are satisfied. Encourage participation in Lids membership programs or special in‑store offers during live events. Adhere to visual guidelines that include proper merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness. Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the Company Dress Code Policy. Operations Execute company‑level directives, promotions, and initiatives from headquarters. Follow the Policies & Procedures Manual to maintain a safe work environment. Maintain store technology and equipment (MPOS, Lids Custom, etc.) by performing daily audits, verifying functionality, and ordering repairs as needed. Manage store facilities and supplies by handling service requests and replenishing stock. Handle cash, including accurate opening and closing of the till, counterfeit protection practices, and consistent bank drops. Prepare the store for inventory audits and support audit activities to confirm inventory accuracy. Open and close the store following procedures outlined in the Operations P&P Manual. Product & Inventory Management Protect company assets within Lids Retail policy guidelines. Assist in preparing store work schedules that meet coverage requirements while controlling wages. Manage inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, price changes, and product counts. Organize the backroom to maximize efficiency and productivity. Execute visual merchandising strategies, including window activations, hardware flips, and seasonal or weekly merchandise changes. Maintain daily visual merchandising and store actions such as product recovery, restocking, or minor VM changes. Adjust pricing signage and promotional presentations during operating hours to align with product sell‑through strategy. Job Required Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills in a clear professional manner.
