Senior Capital Facilities Project Manager

Position Senior Capital Facilities Project Manager at Contra Costa County Facilities Services Division in the Public Works Department, located in Martinez, California. This role oversees the Minor Capital Projects group and manages the delivery of minor capital projects across the Division. Responsibilities Develop, plan, schedule, and execute capital projects throughout the county. Supervise subordinate staff, offering opportunities to train and evaluate their performance. Ensure change orders and payments follow county policies, guidelines, and procedures. Inform various parties about project statuses, including frequent communication with the Division Manager. Manage project budgets and schedules through completion, ensuring work is completed timely and within budget. Ensure projects are properly closed out at completion. Required Qualifications Proficient management skills with a clear understanding of the design and construction process. Effective communicator and strong team player with a positive attitude. Customer‑focused, with strong attention to detail. High degree of ethics, integrity, and credibility. Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with key stakeholders. Strategic thinker who values input and contributions by team members. Five (5) years of full‑time professional architectural or engineering experience in the design and construction of building construction, renovation, upgrading, remodeling, and tenant improvement projects. Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Possession of a valid State of California Professional License as an Architect or Professional Engineer, or appropriate substitution options below. Substitution for Professional License Possession of a master's degree in an accredited field and two (2) additional years of qualifying experience. Five (5) additional years of qualifying experience. Desirable Qualifications Previous sustained experience in advanced project management and problem‑solving roles. Experience working for a public agency. License and Education Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a closely related field. License: Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License and valid State of California Professional License as an Architect or Professional Engineer, or substitution eligibility as noted.
