Clinical Research Coordinator II (Time Limited) - Anesthesiology

Position Summary The research coordinator supports the study protocol for the THRIVE study. The trial examines whether patients undergoing surgery experience superior recovery after receiving one of two anesthetics, INVA or TIVA, and whether TIVA carries no more than a small increased risk of intraoperative awareness than INVA. Funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), the study involves collecting data, testing wearable devices, and smart device applications. The coordinator will manage participant coordination and recruitment. This is a time‑limited position. Scheduled Hours 40 hours per week. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Assist in developing research project plans, interpreting results, and preparing manuscripts and grant proposals. Help draft protocol amendments or study design modifications as needed. Coordinate development of forms, questionnaires, and research techniques. Write instructional procedure manuals for study progress, data collection, and coding. Review scientific literature to stay current and gather information for future studies. Implement and manage all study phases, ensuring protocol compliance and regulatory requirements. Establish record‑keeping systems, assess participant progress, investigate and report adverse events, and advise when to notify physicians, stop enrollment, or adjust protocols. Resolve management issues, recommend corrective actions, and liaise with funding agencies. Analyze and interpret collected clinical data, prepare oral or written reports, and present progress trends with recommendations. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum education requirement. Certifications / Professional Licenses Basic Life Support – American Heart Association, Basic Life Support – American Red Cross. Certification must be obtained within one month of hire and a skills assessment component is required. Work Experience Clinical Research (minimum 2 years).
