Job Title Assistant Project Manager Job Description The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing luxury residential and construction projects from pre‑construction through completion. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional seeking hands‑on experience in high‑end construction within a collaborative, quality‑driven environment. Responsibilities Assist in managing multiple residential construction projects simultaneously. Support scheduling, budgeting, and procurement processes. Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and clients. Help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Maintain project documentation including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Track project progress, costs, and timelines. Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and status reports. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality of workmanship. Assist in resolving field issues and coordinate with site supervisors. Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes. Support communication between clients, architects, and internal teams. Help maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness and professionalism. Essential Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred). 1–3 years of experience in construction or project coordination (residential experience preferred). Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction/project management software is a plus. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Exposure to high‑end custom residential construction. Familiarity with budgeting, estimating, and scheduling tools. Experience working with architects and design teams. Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality craftsmanship. Proactive and eager to learn. Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities. Team‑oriented with excellent interpersonal skills. Work Environment The work environment includes split time between the office in Fairfield (Southport) and site visits throughout Fairfield County to monitor progress and quality of workmanship. APMs work as true co‑managers, taking on major scopes traditionally reserved for full Project Managers, providing accelerated exposure and real responsibility with a clear path to becoming a Project Manager. Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Westport, CT. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $75,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year.
