Position Specific Description The Unregulated Property Accounting teams at FCOE seek a skilled Principal Accountant to join their dynamic organization. This role requires leadership, communication, and coordination skills to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced accounting knowledge, provide technical guidance on complex accounting matters, and lead initiatives that drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be able to: Foster strong working relationships with internal business partners and IBM MXDC resources to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. Provide technical guidance and mentorship while serving as a trusted accounting resource and subject matter expert. Analyze complex accounting transactions and business activities to ensure appropriate application of GAAP, company policy, and internal controls. Leverage systems, reporting tools, and analytics to resolve complex issues and support informed decision‑making. Lead critical accounting activities and ensure the timely and accurate execution of the accounting close process. Review and approve accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance. Research complex accounting matters, develop recommendations, and communicate conclusions to management. Lead process improvement initiatives and support internal and external reporting requirements in a rapidly evolving business environment. Job Duties & Responsibilities Analyze proposed transactions for structure and proper accounting treatment under authoritative accounting literature. Review changes in technical accounting literature, develop positions and present to management. Maintain awareness of accounting issues being considered by regulatory bodies and advise management of important matters. Ensure consistent application of accounting policies. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's – Accounting / Finance / Business. Experience: 6+ years.
