Hyperion Solutions is currently seeking experienced manual machinists for our Titan Machine Corp. machine shop as we expand our team of metalworking craftsmen. This position will focus heavily on the machining, repair, and reconditioning of elevator sheave parts used in vertical transportation equipment. As the elevator industry’s top performing machine shop and repair facility, we’re looking for talented, self-motivated machinists with experience operating large manual equipment, including Bullard vertical turret lathes, to add to our team. Job Type Full-time, Part-time Hyperion Solutions is currently seeking experienced manual machinists for our Titan Machine Corp. machine shop as we expand our team of metalworking craftsmen. This position will focus heavily on the machining, repair, and reconditioning of elevator sheave parts used in vertical transportation equipment. As the elevator industry’s top performing machine shop and repair facility, we’re looking for talented, self-motivated machinists with experience operating large manual equipment, including Bullard vertical turret lathes, to add to our team. Primary Responsibilities Demonstrate the ability to read and use precision measuring instruments for elevator sheave inspection, including inside and outside micrometers, dial calipers, dial indicators, depth micrometers, bore gauges, telescoping gauges, radius gauges, groove gauges, steel rules, straightedges, feeler gauges, height gauges, surface plates, and tape measures, with the ability to verify dimensions within 0.0005” where required. Operate, set up, and maintain manual machine tools used for elevator sheave machining, repair, and reconditioning, including: Bullard vertical turret lathes for turning, facing, boring, grooving, and reconditioning elevator sheaves Horizontal and vertical lathes for large-diameter elevator components and related rotating parts Review drawings, blueprints, work orders, and samples to ensure elevator sheave parts are machined to required dimensions, groove profiles, bore sizes, face runout, and finish requirements. Perform machining operations on elevator sheaves, including rough and finish turning, bore clean-up, keyway preparation support, groove repair, regrooving support, and inspection of worn or damaged sheave surfaces. Check elevator sheave output for quality assurance, including groove condition, concentricity, bore fit, surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and workmanship issues. Training Outline As part of the onboarding and training development process, team members will complete training in the following areas. Following successful completion and certification in these areas, additional compensation will apply. Bullard vertical turret lathe setup and operation for elevator sheave turning, facing, boring, and grooving Job Requirements Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a related machine shop environment required Experience working in an industrial machine shop environment with large manual machine tools, mechanical assemblies, and heavy rotating components Elevator sheave, traction sheave, deflector sheave, experience highly preferred Experience setting up and operating Bullard vertical turret lathes for large-diameter parts preferred Ability to inspect sheave grooves, bores, faces, runout, overall diameter, groove depth/profile, and worn surfaces using precision measuring tools and document findings accurately.
