Direct Support Professional – Residential New Horizons in Autism, Inc. (NHIA) is a non‑profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for adults with autism in Bergen, Monmouth, and Ocean Counties. Direct Support Professional Provide direct care and supervision for individuals with autism in a residential home setting. Assist in day‑to‑day operations, including personal care, medication management, life skills, transportation, daily structure, and documentation. What We Are Looking For We seek caring, compassionate, dedicated, and reliable staff members who can communicate effectively with individuals with autism and use sound judgment and tact. Agency Training Extensive, hands‑on training is provided to ensure every team member delivers the best care. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree (must provide diploma or transcripts). Minimum age 20 years. Valid, non‑probationary New Jersey driver's license. Pass all background checks—including Central Registry, CARI, DMV, fingerprints, drug screen, physical, and PPD. Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with persons with autism, solve problems systematically, and communicate professionally in written and verbal forms.
