Licensed Practical Nurse

LPN (Per Diem)Headquartered in Paterson, NJ, Straight and Narrow is the largest program of its kind. We provide innovative and compassionate services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs.Location: Paterson, NJResponsibilities:Assists the Registered Nurse.Telephone/Walk-in screeningsDispensing medications to Detox clients and residential clients as per doctor's order.Recording doctor's written orders on the medication sheet.Ordering prescribed medication from the pharmacy.Answering and monitoring calls, in house and outside calls properly.Reports all problems as well as concerns to the RN on duty.Count controlled dangerous substances and record.Maintain par levels on all stock medications.Maintain syringe count on a per Straight and Narrow policy and procedureMaintaining documentation in nurse's notes.Attending all scheduled nurse's meetings and in-services.Interview clients upon admission, obtaining information on medical history and substance abuse history for RN assessment notes.Maintains a safe environment for all clients and is familiar with disaster and fire drills.Follow up with medical slip issues.Participates in discharge planning in conjunction with RN and the counselor.Please note exceptions:• The RN does all initial Detox and Clinical assessments, but ongoing care is done by RN's/LPN's.• All charge nurses for each shift is an RN.• All verbal phone orders are received by an RN onlyBenefits:For full time positions, we offer medical, vision, dental, life and supplemental life insurance.
