Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Deliver direct patient care as a Registered Nurse in accordance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement guidelines. Assess patient conditions, record changes, and communicate critical updates to the interdisciplinary team to support timely, coordinated care decisions. Execute physician and nursing orders accurately while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety best practices. Assess discharge planning needs and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe transitions, continuity of care, and positive patient outcomes. The department operates a 24/7 fast track and staffs both a triage and charge RN 24/7. Support a 4:1 ratio, with 2:1 or 1:1 dependent on patient stability. Staff ED PCTs trained in phlebotomy and splinting amongst other skills 24/7. Scrub color is navy blue. The department does not float outside of the Emergency Department. EMR used is Cerner.
