HSKP Inspector

Position Overview The Housekeeping Inspector will report to the Housekeeping Manager and will be asked to perform some managerial functions. The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms, corridors and public areas meet the hotel’s cleanliness, safety and quality standards. This role involves inspecting rooms after cleaning, supervising room attendants and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction through attention to detail and consistent service quality. Key Responsibilities Serving as team lead for the entire housekeeping staff including assigning and reviewing work. Maintain high-quality cleaning standards. Provide exceptional customer service and lead staff to do the same. Respond to customer complaints quickly and resolve them effectively. Communicate and coordinate with Engineering to ensure efficient maintenance and repair of items related to guest rooms and public areas. Be reliable, organized, and comfortable managing a physically active role. Supervise subordinate staff, including assignment of duties, evaluating service and taking disciplinary action when necessary. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear directions to the staff. Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary. Perform guest room cleaning duties in cases of room attendant’s shortage. Position Requirements Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other departments. Motivate and inspire others to work cooperatively to achieve a designated goal. Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. Communicate effectively in English with guests, managers, and colleagues. Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of the department. Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect the department (preferred). Proven track record of effectively and empathetically training, mentoring, and managing hourly employees. Physical Requirements Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks. Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to stand and exert well‑paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years housekeeping experience. Ability to communicate in English. Demonstrate natural leadership qualities with a positive, team‑focused attitude. Prior experience in a luxury hotel preferred. Wage Rate: $29 per hour Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
