About the Role
The Company is in search of an Associate General Counsel, Commercial to join their team. The successful candidate will serve as a legal advisor, providing pragmatic and risk-based legal advice to support the company's commercial, medical affairs, market access, patient advocacy, and pre-commercialization activities. This role is pivotal in the transition from a clinical-stage to a commercial-stage organization, particularly in the gene therapy sector. Key responsibilities include leading the drafting, review, negotiation, and management of complex commercial agreements, serving as the primary legal partner to commercial leadership for product launch preparation, and advising on a wide range of legal matters including FDA regulations, healthcare compliance, and global commercialization. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school, be an active member of at least one U.S. state bar, and have 10-15+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong background in the life sciences industry. The role requires a deep understanding of FDA regulations, healthcare compliance laws, and the unique legal challenges associated with gene therapy products. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in negotiating complex commercial agreements, exceptional communication and counseling skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment. Experience in global commercialization, particularly in ex-U.S. markets, and a familiarity with digital health, patient engagement, artificial intelligence, and data analytics projects are also essential.
