Child Care Lead Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports the work of Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Builds members and the community’s understanding of the YMCA’s impact.
This position creates a safe, enjoyable, culturally aware, and positive environment that promotes wellness and engagement following YMCA policies and procedures. Provides quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. While exemplifying the Y’s commitment to the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility and responds to all member and community inquiries promptly.
- Helps with implementing curriculum within the established guidelines.
- You must be dependable and build consistency and stability in the classroom for the children in your care. Full-time dependability is crucial to this role.
- Helps with supervising the children, classroom, and activities at all times.
- Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
- Maintains program site and equipment.
- Helps with keeping required program records.
- Attends and takes part in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training (18 hours per year)
- Fulfills any functions?appointed?by the YMCA administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.
- At least 18 years of age.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- Health form completed within 30 days of hire date.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
Compensation details: 12.57-18.85 Hourly Wage
