Required Education - MSN for Nurse Practitioners or BS for Physician Assistants

Required Related Experience - No experience required.

Required License/Registration/Certification - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) with appropriate certification

Physical Requirements - May lift objects up to 50 lbs; may sit or stand for long periods of time.

Shift - Monday Friday, 8:00 am 5:00 pm. Occasional evenings and weekends if applicable.

Job Summary - The Inpatient Infectious Disease Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP generally functions as a member of the Division's inpatient medical management team. The APP manages the critical care aspects of the assigned patient's stay from admission to transfer. The APP may perform the coordination of care throughout the admission to discharge as well as provide outpatient/ambulatory coordination of care on occasion. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and ensuring an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
