Electrical Superintendent

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Superintendent for a leading maritime expedition travel organization. This candidate will serve as the primary shore-side electrical expert supporting a fleet of passenger vessels operating in some of the world's most remote destinations. The ideal candidate will work closely with shipboard engineering teams to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of critical electrical, automation, navigation, and communication systems. Responsibilities include overseeing drydock projects, managing electrical maintenance programs, coordinating vendors and budgets, supporting regulatory compliance efforts, and traveling to vessels for inspections and troubleshooting support. • Provide technical support to shipboard engineering teams for electrical system operation and maintenance

• Act as the primary shore-side escalation point for complex electrical and electronic system issues

• Troubleshoot automation, navigation, communication, and power systems

• Plan and oversee electrical maintenance, repairs, drydock activities, and equipment upgrades

• Ensure vessels remain compliant with Class, Flag State, SOLAS, USCG, and company requirements

• Maintain technical documentation and support audits and investigations

• Monitor vessel electrical system health and identify operational risks

• Coordinate vendors, purchasing activities, budgets, and project execution

• Travel to vessels for inspections, troubleshooting, and condition assessments

• Recommend reliability and operational improvements across the fleet

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent maritime technical qualification

• Experience supporting electrical systems in passenger vessels or comparable maritime environments

• Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, regulations, compliance requirements, and safety practices

• Experience with planned maintenance systems (PMS)

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications

• Experience troubleshooting electrical, automation, navigation, and communication systems

• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Ability to travel internationally up to 25%

Ability to work onboard vessels, climb ladders, and perform vessel inspections • Chief Electrical Officer (CEO) Certification

• Shore-side technical fleet support experience

• Drydock planning and project management experience

○ Experience with ABS Wavesight and NSE (Nautical Systems Enterprise)

• Experience with Class, Flag State, SOLAS, USCG, and SMS compliance requirements

• Vendor management and budgeting experience

• Basic Spanish language proficiency

• Has used AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, or other drawing programs
