Job Summary The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical and electronic systems across assigned vessels. This role serves as the primary shore-side technical lead for shipboard electrical matters, supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, drydock planning, projects, compliance, and system reliability across the fleet. Essential Duties

Candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance of their designated office. Communication Skills Using the English language, this person must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend policies, legal guidelines, correspondence, and memos. Must also possess the ability to effectively communicate--both in writing and orally--with a professional demeanor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee will also be required to write and type. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
COMPENSATION STATEMENT Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay. - Provide technical support to shipboard engineering teams for electrical system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability.
- Serve as the primary shore-side escalation point for complex electrical, automation, navigation, communication, and related system issues.
- Plan and oversee electrical maintenance, drydock work, repairs, and upgrade projects.
- Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, SOLAS, USCG, and company SMS requirements.
- Maintain technical records, support audits and investigations, and provide periodic reporting on vessel condition and key risks.
- Support purchasing, budgeting, vendor coordination, and project execution for assigned vessels.
- Conduct vessel visits to assess system condition, support troubleshooting, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent maritime technical qualification preferred.
- Chief Electrical Officer certification or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting electrical systems in passenger vessel or comparable maritime environments.
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, safety practices, planned maintenance systems, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

- Regular standing, walking, climbing, and movement onboard vessels and in office environments.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally more.
