Qualifications

1. A Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology 2. A minimum of 60 semester hours of academic credit in normal aspects of human communication, development thereof, and clinical techniques for evaluation and management of speech and language disorders distributed as follows: a. a minimum of 12 semester hours in courses pertaining to normal development of speech, language and hearing b. a minimum of 30 semester hours in courses on communication disorders and evaluation and management of speech, language, and hearing disorders. Of these 30 semester hours, 24 shall be in speech and language pathology and 6 shall be in audiology. Not more than 6 of the 30 semester hours may be earned for clinical practicum c. A minimum of 30 semester hours that are acceptable on a graduate level, of which 21 hours shall be within the group specified in (b) above 3. A minimum of 300 clock hours of supervised practicum experience with persons who present a variety of communication disorder, to be acquired in conjunction with academic training, 150 hours of which shall be obtained on the graduate level.

4. Possess the necessary personal qualifications to work with a broad range of general education and Special Education staff and to work with students with varying handicapping conditions

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Be a member of the building's Child Study committee 2. Evaluate students referred for a speech and language evaluation or a three-year- re-evaluation 3. Chair or be a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation Team depending on primary disability 4. Assume responsibility for convening and participating in IEPs within appropriate timelines for all students on caseload 5. Provide appropriate direct services to speech and language impaired youngsters 6. Provide consultative services to teachers and parents of speech and language impaired youngsters 7. Make contacts with outside agencies when appropriate 8. Keep performance objectives and daily logs for all students on the case load 9. Bill Medicaid for all Medicaid eligible students on the case load 10. Complete special education progress reportsProvide adequate evaluation and report data to determine appropriateness of eligibility for Speech and Language Impaired (R 340.1710-State Special Education Code) 11. Base Rate of Pay

Per TFT Contract [$50,335.00 - $106,667.00] years of experience will be taken into consideration.
