Board Member - Development - Fundraising/Marketing

The Delores A. Threatt Foundation is a nationally focused charitable organization initially dedicated to advancing excellence in critical, cardiac and emergency care by providing need and merit based scholarships to nursing students who anticipate specializing in these areas. In alignment with our values, scholarship awards may give preference to applicants who:

• Come from backgrounds underrepresented in nursing
• Intend to serve underserved or marginalized communities
• Have overcome systemic barriers to higher education

Our foundation mission is simple and powerful: Honoring Legacy. Advancing Nursing Excellence.

We are a newly formed organization and are assembling a thoughtful and committed Founding Board of Directors to help guide governance, strategic direction, and long-term sustainability of the foundation. As a Founding Board Member you will not only address operational priorities, but help define the culture, standards and values that will guide the Foundation for decades to come.

Your responsibilities would include:

• Establishing governance and fiduciary oversight
• Adopting foundational policies and scholarship guidelines
• Providing strategic direction and long-term planning
• Supporting philanthropic development and relationship-building
• Serving as an ambassador for the Foundation’s mission

We are looking for individuals with experience in non profit fundraising and/or marketing to help develop a plan for donor outreach.

Founding Board service is voluntary and unpaid, however this is an opportunity to help shape a legacy-driven foundation that will support care nationwide for generations to come. The time commitment would include an initial term of 2 years and presence at quarterly virtual meetings.
