General Maintenance Technician

General Maintenance Technician- Electrical experience preferred. Classified Position, 240 Days, pay grade (M7-Craftsman I), with hourly rate depending upon relevant work experience. Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:

• To perform general maintenance jobs under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor
• Assists other technicians and sub-contractors as needed
• Assists in estimating labor and material costs associated with repairs or replacement projects
• Completes and maintains all required paperwork; maintains and submits accurate and complete records of all work orders
• Maintains all tools related to the position
• Accepts full responsibility for maintaining and operating a system vehicle, if provided
• Is accessible and considered to be on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
• Adheres to all School Board policies and procedures and demonstrates professional and ethical practices in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the job
• Complies with any reasonable oral or written request of the Maintenance Supervisor, his/her designee, or other appropriate district administrator
• Demonstrates excellent attendance and punctuality

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED with relevant training and/or experience
• Holds a valid Georgia motor vehicle operator's license
• Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
