Job Description Purpose: The Contract Specialist provides primary assistance for administrative actions related to contract management. Responsibilities:
- Serves as initial contact for receipt of contracts and tracks contracts throughout completion.
- Responsible for logging contracts in departmental database; providing initial response to client; working with the Director and Assistant Director on assignment of contracts; tracking status of pending contract negotiations.
- Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, special reports, and other documents.
- Produces weekly/monthly/quarterly activity reports.
- Provides various administrative and logistical support.
- Assists in the coordination of department activities/initiatives.
- Assists in the maintenance and development of department databases.
- Works with sponsors to establish TEES in sponsor's vendor systems.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Sponsored Research/Contract Management background.
- Working knowledge of Maestro ERP System, AggieBuy, and Concur.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
