Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

This position will be highly advanced and under the direction/supervision of our Chief Infrastructure Officer. Responsibilities include oversight, direction, and coordination of administrative, financial, business, and information systems, along with reporting and budgeting of transit infrastructure projects. The candidate will be assigned multiple projects varying in size, complexity, and duration which are of importance to the Department. The candidate will work closely with other PMs, supervisors, staff, and departments to coordinate, construct, and execute projects on time and within budget.

Scope Of Work (Highly Advanced)

• The Project Manager III provides hands-on leadership, management, supervision, and support to various projects in a variety of roles, to oversee the work of a team and provide expertise, including organizing, planning, and execution of project management responsibilities for transit projects.
• Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet customer expectations.
• Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews, and escalating functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately.
• Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
• Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise, including executive levels, which may impact the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort being managed.
• Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource Management practices, and change management techniques.
• This is a leadership role with human resource management responsibilities (e.g., overseeing staff in a matrix structure for the project lifecycle, indirect performance management).
• Manages multiple cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity.
• This highly advanced role has responsibility for managing multiple large, complex projects with greater impact to the enterprise.
• Experience with Waterfall, Lean Agile methodologies, or planning, design, and procurement of construction, and/or traditional methodologies such as those defined by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).

The preferred Project Manager III must have prior transit experience and knowledge of the transit industry. It is preferred that the Project Manager III is able to provide or possesses the following:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction, or related field. Or equivalent work experience.
• Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
• Project Management curriculum is required.
• Requires seven to 10 years of Project Management experience, including complex transit projects, including county, state, and federal projects
• A minimum of ten years of experience managing Information Technology, transit construction, public works, or similar transit projects
• Ten years of Vendor management experience, including contract management and contract negotiations.
• Works under the general direction of senior-level management.
• Responsible for the management of multiple medium- to large-size projects and programs.
• Manages and mentors project leaders and project management staff. Must have the ability to lead a PMO.
• Excellent Leadership, communication (written and verbal), Ownership, Teamwork, Accountability, Conflict Resolution, and
• Analytical skills to successfully drive assigned projects to completion.
• The position is expected to research, conduct feasibility studies, recommend system solutions, develop enhancement plans, and related cost-benefit comparisons.
• Work includes supervising and coordinating the activities of professional and technical staff working on phases of large-scale automation projects.
• Must thoroughly understand the full project life cycle of a project.
• Capability to understand the client's technical and business requirements for a project.
• Management experience.
• Formal Project Management Training is required.

Below are a few important requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related field
• 6 years of progressively responsible experience in public transportation projects (planning, design, construction)
• Construction oversight experience in the transportation sector
• 5 years of vertical construction experience
• Design experience in the transportation sector
• Experience in managing high-profile publicly funded projects
• ADA knowledge

And preferences for the position:

• Master's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related field
• Knowledge of alternative delivery methods for construction (Design-Build, progressive design-build, CMAR)
• Experience in Grant funding execution.

Certifications and Licenses:

• Must obtain and possess a valid Florida Driver's License
