Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An exciting opportunity awaits a Certified School Nurse (CSN) looking to make a meaningful difference throughout the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract position supports students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, including transition-age young adults (18-22), each with a variety of support needs. With a 35-hour work week, you’ll be an integral part of the educational team, fostering a healthy learning environment.

Key skills and qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential (Illinois endorsement mandatory)
• Previous school nursing experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable working with students across K-12 and transition programs
• Ability to communicate clearly with students, staff, and families
• Strong assessment, organizational, and documentation skills

Role responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality health care and nursing services to students with a broad spectrum of needs
• Develop and manage individualized health plans for students requiring specialized care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support each student’s academic and health goals
• Administer medications, provide emergency care, and perform screenings as needed
• Educate students and staff on health practices, injury prevention, and illness management
• Maintain detailed, confidential health records in compliance with district and state guidelines
