Schedule: Sunday-Thursday (40 hrs/wk) 6PM - 2:30AM

Department: Housekeeping - 116

Primary Purpose: The Custodian I provides general cleaning in assigned areas to include emptying trash, vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping floors, disinfecting restrooms and drinking fountains, and dusting.

Essential Functions:

• Cleaning in assigned areas consists of
• Emptying trash
• Vacuuming carpets
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Disinfecting restrooms and drinking fountains
• Dusting in office areas, common areas, and labs
• Knowledge in the use of equipment and cleaning chemicals necessary to perform assigned work.
• Assist in the materials recycling program.
• Complete special cleaning assignments instructed by the night supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Communicate: Frequently communicate with others. PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies. ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Education

Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.
