This position requires proficiency in multiple building trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance.Essential Job Functions and Other Important DutiesPerforms preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on City-owned buildings, equipment, and facility systemsResponds to service requests in a timely manner, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, roofing, doors, locks, windows, ceilings, and flooring.Works on large-scale maintenance projects as assigned, contributing to the team's efforts to upgrade and maintain facility infrastructure.Operates and maintains a variety of tools and equipment necessary for facility maintenance.Communicates existing and prospective issues with supervisor.Completes all required safety training, certifications, and continuing education in a timely manner.Remains accessible via cell phone to address job-related issues or emergencies using City applications.Performs other related duties as assigned.Job QualificationsFormal Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Relatable Work Experience: At least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial or municipal facility maintenance or a related skilled trade. Training (Licenses(s) and/or Certification(s): Valid Class C Texas Driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: EPA Section 608 Certification, HVAC Technician Certification, Electrical, plumbing, or building maintenance certifications. Disclaimer: Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months.
