The opening is for the night shift with working hours of 5:00 pm - 5:25 am. Perform changeovers from one product to another. Conduct quality checks (seal checks, correct bag, weight, size, and shape) and document results on the Quality Control Log. Record shift production on the Quality Control Log. Conduct metal detector checks and document on the Critical Control Point Log. Retain product samples. Maintain steady flow of product per production requirements. Read and understand production schedule. Set up printer with accurate code date. Make necessary adjustments to the bagger machine. Operate the palletizer machine efficiently and correctly. Scan pallets in from the production line using a scan gun. Respond to palletizer machine alarms and troubleshoot accordingly. Fix broken bags. Maintain shrink wrap in the palletizer machine and troubleshoot. Promptly remove pallets from the line and stage them using a forklift. Offload pallet trailers and stage them accordingly. Record shift production on the Palletizer Control Log. Maintain accurate, complete, and legible paperwork. Perform adjustments and changeovers such as pallet configuration and manual line adjustments. Read schedules to determine product run and destination warehouse. Keep workstation and surrounding area clean and safe at all times. Operate forklift. Communicate via two-way radio regularly. Actively participate in coverage of employee absences. Perform all other additional duties and functions as assigned by management. Additional Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work overtime as required and participate fully. Cover for other employees’ absences when called upon, whether pre-planned or on short notice. Accept temporary assignment changes to assist other areas of the plant while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. Cross-train in other job duties as required, assisting in all other areas as directed. Complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and be conscientious about assignments. Understand, follow, and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and HACCP (CCPs) in accordance with company policy. Work in a safe, professional manner at all times, performing all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedures. Work Environment The work is performed primarily indoors near operating equipment. It involves working in both low and high heights, cold, hot, dusty areas where loose particles may be present.
