Custodian

Primary Function: To clean Bellevue University buildings and facilities to ensure areas are presentable and safe for students, faculty, and staff. Essential Functions: Sweeps and mops floors. Cleans sinks, toilets, urinals and all dispensers using appropriate cleaning solutions Spot-cleans walls, doors and partitions. Empties trashcans and sanitary napkin receptacles. Refills paper towel, toilet paper, soap and sanitary napkin dispensers Cleans Entranceways and Hallways Sweeps and vacuums floors. (including edging and baseboards) Washes windows using cleaning solutions. Cleans offices Vacuums floors (edging and under desks) Dusts hard surfaces (Other than desks and bookcases unless asked) Spot-cleans walls Cleans Classrooms, Conference Rooms, Game Room and Quiet Lounge, Locker Rooms, Etc. Sprays showers with disinfect chemicals. Wipes off tables and chairs. Picks-up trash and empty trashcans. Spot cleans walls Cleans chalk/white boards. Replaces markers/chalk and erasers. Marginal Functions: Shovels and salts walkways during the winter months to ensure areas clear and safe. Sets-up rooms/cleans up after University and Community events. Washes accessible interior and exterior windows, clean blinds and ledges. Shampoos/extracts carpets Cleans out light fixtures. Cleans outside tables and benches. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Abilities: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Other Requirements: Knowledge of safe handling procedures for various chemicals and cleaning agents. Ability to read and understand written work orders. Must have excellent time management skills, and be detail oriented and dependable. Computer Skills: General office and internet skills.
