Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking a registered nurse (RN) who is knowledgeable in evidence-based practices, pathophysiology, pharmacological implications, and regulatory issues. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, patient advocacy, and the ability to educate patients and families effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly document patient assessments and perform various clinical procedures, including IV placement, Foley catheter insertion, and dressing changes.
• Utilize telemonitoring, manage IVs and ventilators, and administer medications safely.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions promptly.
• Model safety behaviors and report errors, daily occurrences, and near misses.
• Work independently as well as collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Accept and act on constructive feedback.
• Maintain a professional appearance and complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
• Proactively conduct follow-ups as necessary.

Requirements

• Current California RN Licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
• A minimum of two years of experience in an Emergency Department.

Additional Qualifications

• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience with a patient ratio of 4:1.
• Familiarity with the Epic charting system is preferred.
• Preferred travel experience.

Skills

• Proficient in managing a variety of acute health conditions such as abdominal pain, respiratory distress, and traumatic injuries.
• Skilled in airway management and ventilator care.
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage dysrhythmias.
• Experience in pediatric and adult emergency care.
• Capable of managing complex cases, including stroke and trauma patients.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekend rotations and no on-call requirements.

Facility Information

Location: City, State

Daily census averages around 120 patients, supported by interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and social services.
