Visual Designer

About Our Role

Trailborn is looking for a self-driven Visual Designer to create smart, beautiful, impactful work from concept through production design. Work and responsibilities live across channels, with a focus on organic social, advertising, sales systems, and printed collateral. We're a tight-knit, collaborative team who approaches each new project with fresh eyes, together. We want our next team member to embrace and amplify this culture. This role is heavily geared toward execution and doing the work, nearly always including the final production design and delivery within its scope. Trailborn also creates and builds hotel and restaurant brands with a presence across media. Over time, this role will potentially expand into concepting and shaping new brands as well.

Essential Functions

• Digital Content - Concept, Art Direct and Execute Organic Social and Partnerships Templates + Creative: Create templates and respond to ongoing briefs for organic social, plus support efforts with visual assets across a variety of media for branded partnerships in collaboration with our Social Media and Partnerships Manager.
• Digital Marketing - Execute Ongoing Marketing Campaigns and Pre-Opening Digital Assets: Create email templates, plus key pre-launch ads and social posts within the Pre-Opening property scope. Then support our Senior Designer by scaling existing art direction and campaign directions to implement creative across media.
• Collateral - Concept, Art Direct and Execute Sales Materials and Templates: Respond to ongoing briefs and design Sales templates and materials both within our "Pre-Opening scopes" from concept through completion to ensure our partners can efficiently edit and build effective materials.
• Ongoing Design Execution - Concept, Art Direct and Execute Internal Materials, Templates, and Ongoing OS&E + Merch: Respond to ongoing briefs and design Sales templates and materials within our "Pre-Opening scopes" from concept through completion to ensure our partners can efficiently edit and build effective materials. Additionally, respond to Ongoing briefs for Sales materials, Templates, OS&E, and Merch.
• Ongoing Brand Upkeep - Review, organize and share commissioned footage and imagery plus support photo and video shoots: Partner with marketing team members to curate and build easily accessible libraries of imagery and video. As needed, but potentially rarely, attend ongoing shoots to help style and capture additional social content.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience as a visual designer at agencies, studios, on an in-house team, as a freelancer, or some combination
• Ability to build and flex between dynamic visual identity systems
• Fluency in the Adobe suite, Figma, and Canva
• Working knowledge of Asana, Google apps and Office
• Motivated and proactive working style - possess strong ability to push projects forward and retain momentum
• Interest in and awareness of social media and digital touchpoints including Instagram with a familiarity of TikTok
• Experience concepting with copywriters and other creatives
• Familiar with and receptive to AI capabilities, especially as it pertains to time-saving systems work
• Ability to illustrate and animate, plus experience with After Effects and Procreate a plus
• Experience collaborating with photographers and illustrators a plus
• Have strong opinions that are loosely held
• Are excited about helping to build a fast-moving and ever-evolving brand and company
• Ability to work within a high-energy, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Good attention to detail

• Passionate about (and a student of) hospitality, travel, and the outdoors
• Hospitality experience a plus
