Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job‑related skills, experience, education or training, and location. Work Schedule Monday–Friday with flexibility between 7:00AM and 5:00PM. Summary The Porter is responsible for the overall basic general cleaning of the common garage area while providing exceptional hospitality services in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner to all guests during their entire stay. The Porter also maintains the garage facility equipment, common area waste receptacles, and assists with any customer issue in the parking area including lock‑outs, flat tires, battery jump, and lost vehicle assistance. Essential Functions Cleanliness check each shift of all guest entrances and elevator landings in the entire garage (20%). Includes emptying ash urns daily, emptying trash receptacles at half full or higher, sweeping litter and cigarette butts in the common landing area. Use of mop or power washer to eliminate stains in the common area (20%). Wipe all signage and wayfinding material on foot stations with the appropriate cleaning solutions and cloth. Maintain general cleaning of the garage with a mobile garbage can, broom and dustpan, including removal of all debris such as cans, bottles, cups and other refuse on the ground, ledges and walls. Use paint‑safe solution or power washer for stains on pillars and columns (15%). Wipe all signage and wayfinding materials at all garage vehicular entrances and exits with appropriate cleaning solutions and cloth (15%). Wipe all equipment including gates, gate arms, card‑reading equipment and attached signage with appropriate materials and cloth. Empty all returned guest key receptacles at each garage exit and return to the Towne Park MOD for appropriate facility. Power wash any areas of the garage entrances and exits that need additional attention (10%). Assist guests with directions and other inquiries. Provide information about surrounding area and main attractions (10%). Protect guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Maintain the security of customer financial and identifying information (10%). Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum age 18 and able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen. One to three months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of basic general cleaning. Read and write Standard English. Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees. Understand 24‑hour and military time systems. Understand rates applicable to time passed. Scope of Authority The job is fairly routine. The incumbent follows established practices and procedures. Duties are performed with specific directions given and work is checked or verified frequently. Decisions are made within operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Errors in judgment could affect the smooth and efficient operation of the department. Working Conditions & Physical Demands The position requires frequent talking or hearing, sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, running, handling tools, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Lifting up to 100pounds occasionally, 50pounds frequently, 20pounds constantly. Most work is performed outdoors for extended periods, subject to extreme heat, cold and weather variations.
